Hyperbolic
F Hyperbolic GPU cloud and Inference API (api.hyperbolic.ai, CLI, MCP server, Managed Kubernetes)
Renting GPUs, managing storage and SSH keys, and calling the Inference API all take one static sk_live_ API key made in the dashboard. There is no OIDC or federation path. Keys have no expiry, cannot be created or revoked through the API, carry no permission scopes, show no last use, and are not in GitHub's secret-scanning partner program. Managed Kubernetes uses browser SSO for humans only. Hyperbolic never reaches into your cloud.

How a workload running anywhere authenticates to this product.
A static Bearer API key (sk_live_...) created under Settings > API Keys, personal or Organization-owned, used by the public REST API, the Inference API, the hyperbolic CLI and the MCP server. No OIDC, workload identity or token-exchange path exists.

Graded on the weakest path a workload must use: every control-plane call (rent, terminate, reserve, storage volumes, SSH keys, balance) and every inference call takes the same static key. The docs, the OpenAPI 3.1 spec and Hyperbolic's GitHub repos (CLI, MCP server, TS SDK) describe no OIDC, GitHub Actions, cloud workload identity or token exchange, and no Terraform provider was found. Managed Kubernetes (beta) kubeconfigs use kubelogin OIDC with short-lived tokens, but sign-in is an interactive browser flow for human users; Hyperbolic documents no machine path into the cluster API, so a CI job would have to mint an in-cluster Kubernetes service-account token itself (another static secret). That SSO is noted here and does not lift the grade, since federation documented only for human logins does not count. The CLI's `hyperbolic auth login` is a human login. SSH keys to instances are customer-held public keys, not a Hyperbolic credential.

How this product reaches into your cloud, repos, or other SaaS.
Hyperbolic does not reach into customer clouds, buckets, registries or SaaS; data moves out of instances with tools and credentials the customer runs inside them.

Checked: the full llms.txt index, the OpenAPI spec (rentals, storage volumes, SSH keys, users, balances, API keys), storage and ports, Managed Kubernetes, Private Cloud, Inference and the changelog. No S3/GCS/Azure import, private registry pull, Hugging Face or W&B integration, or data sync job is offered; the storage guide's `aws s3 sync` and `gsutil` examples run inside the customer's own instance with the customer's own credentials, which is not Hyperbolic reaching in. Inference serves Hyperbolic-hosted open models only. If Hyperbolic adds bucket import or registry pulls, this surface needs grading.
Hygiene for any static credential the product still issues
| ✗ Expiry enforceable | The ApiKey object has publicId, userId, orgId, last4, createdAt and revokedAt, with no expiration field, and the API keys docs describe creation and revocation only. A key lives until someone revokes it. The create dialog itself is behind the dashboard login and was not seen.
|
| ✗ Rotation via API | The only API-key endpoint in the public API is GET /v2/api-keys/list. Creating and revoking keys happens in the dashboard, so rotation needs a human in a browser. SSH public keys, by contrast, have full create/rename/delete endpoints.
|
| ✗ Scoped keys | A key acts as its personal account or as the whole Organization; no permission scopes, resource limits, read-only keys or service-account principal are documented, and the only roles are Admin and Member for humans. An Organization key is shared rather than personal, but it is not a purpose-built least-privilege machine principal.
|
| ✗ Last-used visible | The ApiKey schema has createdAt and revokedAt but no last-used timestamp, and the docs only advise reviewing billing for unexpected charges. The dashboard key list is login-walled; graded on the public API schema.
|
| ✗ Leak revocation | Hyperbolic does not appear in GitHub's supported secret-scanning patterns table, partner or otherwise, even though keys carry a greppable sk_live_ prefix. A leaked key keeps working until a human revokes it in the dashboard.

Notes
One card for the whole platform: On-Demand, Reserved and Private Cloud rentals, storage volumes, the Inference API, the CLI and MCP server all share one sk_live_ key type, and Managed Kubernetes is human SSO on top of the same account, so no split was warranted. Docs moved from docs.hyperbolic.xyz to hyperbolic.ai/docs; the legacy api.hyperbolic.xyz host still serves the same REST API. Zero of five hygiene checks pass. No confidence flag: the dashboard is login-walled, but the public ApiKey schema already shows no expiry or last-used field, and rotation_api and leak_revocation fail on public evidence, so the headline cannot reach D without contradicting the published API. The cheapest fixes are API endpoints to create and revoke keys, expiry and last-used fields, and a GitHub secret-scanning partnership for the sk_live_ prefix; inbound moves above F only with a federated token path (GitHub Actions OIDC or bring-your-own issuer) into api.hyperbolic.ai, or a machine path into Managed Kubernetes.
