Cyera
C Cyera Data Security Platform (DSPM)
Cyera's API takes a client ID and secret, which you swap at /v1/login for a short-lived JWT. The secret itself expires after 1 to 365 days, but no other key hygiene is publicly documented. Its docs are behind a login, so how it connects into your clouds and SaaS can barely be checked: the public material shows an AWS role ARN and a Snowflake key-rotation endpoint, and little else.

Inbound C
How a workload running anywhere authenticates to this product.
An API token (Client ID + Client Secret, created under Settings > API Tokens with an expiry of 1 to 365 days) is posted to POST /v1/login, which returns a short-lived JWT sent as "Authorization: Bearer <jwt>". No workload federation is publicly documented.

Every public third-party connector (Delinea, Elastic, the Microsoft Sentinel CCF connector, Cyera's own GitHub samples) uses the same flow: a Client ID and Secret from Cyera, then /v1/login for a JWT. Graded C because the JWT is short-lived but the client secret is a static root. The auth server at auth.cyera.io advertises the RFC 8693 token-exchange grant. Nothing public says it accepts customer- or cloud-issued workload tokens, so it does not count as federation. The API reference (api.cyera.io/docs) and product docs (docs.cyera.io) are behind a login, so a federation option there could not be checked. Cyera also ships a deployable on-prem connector, a VM image that now supports Hyper-V ("Cyera's on-prem connector now supports Microsoft Hyper-V"). How it authenticates back to the Cyera SaaS is not publicly documented.
Outbound B
How this product reaches into your cloud, repos, or other SaaS.
Cyera says it scans clouds, SaaS and on-prem stores "agentless" through "native APIs". The only public hint at a mechanism is Cyera's own sample Terraform provider. It registers an AWS account by IAM role ARN, a keyless cross-account role. The API also has a Snowflake key-rotation endpoint, which means Cyera holds a Snowflake key. The setup for GCP, Azure, M365, Google Workspace, Okta, Salesforce and the on-prem connectors is not public.

“Cyera’s approach eliminates these bottlenecks by securely connecting to on-prem systems from the cloud through APIs, removing the need for local agents or additional infrastructure.”
Low confidence. The connector setup guides (AWS, GCP, Azure, M365, Google Workspace, Snowflake, Okta, Salesforce, Box, Databricks, on-prem Oracle/MongoDB/NetApp/SMB) are on docs.cyera.io, which is behind a login, and no public guide was found for any of them. The AWS role ARN comes from a proof-of-concept Terraform provider in Cyera's GitHub org (github.com/cyeragit). It is not an official onboarding doc, and it does not show whether an External ID is used. The Snowflake key-rotation endpoint means Cyera holds a long-lived Snowflake credential. Who generates that key is not public. Scanning on-prem databases and file shares almost certainly needs service-account credentials, but that could not be confirmed. Graded B on the AWS role plus the Snowflake key. Public setup docs could move this either way.
Hygiene for any static credential the product still issues
| ✓ Expiry enforceable | Every documented token-creation flow requires an expiry. The default is 1 day and the longest choice is 365 days, with no "never" option. That counts as an enforced maximum. There is no org-level policy to shorten the maximum, and the gated docs might allow longer tokens on other paths.
|
| ✗ Rotation via API | All public guides create and revoke tokens in the UI (Settings > API Tokens, or the integration card's API Token Generator). Cyera's own summary of its API areas (datastores, issues, classifications, tables, webhooks, reports, events, policies, identities and more) lists no endpoint to create or revoke API tokens. /v1/refresh refreshes the JWT, not the client secret. The full API reference is gated.
|
| ✗ Scoped keys | The public creation flows take only a description and an expiry, with no role or scope picker. Elastic's docs say a token's access depends on the role of the user who made it, so tokens appear to inherit their creator's permissions. Cyera's own repo quotes the gated API docs calling API tokens "role-specific". If tokens can carry an assigned role that differs from the creator's, this would flip to a pass, but that cannot be checked publicly.
|
| ✗ Last-used visible | No public doc mentions a last-used timestamp for API tokens. The platform audit trail covers "API key management" events, which is creation and deletion, not usage.
|
| ✗ Leak revocation | Cyera does not appear in GitHub's supported secret-scanning patterns, partner or user.

Notes
Graded the Cyera Data Security Platform API (api.cyera.io, plus api-eu.cyera.io), which DSPM, DLP, AI Guardian and the other modules share. The API reference (api.cyera.io/docs), product docs (docs.cyera.io, GitBook behind visitor auth) and support center (support.cyera.io) all require a login. This card relies on third-party connector docs (Delinea, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel), Cyera's public auth-server metadata, Cyera marketing pages, and sample repos in Cyera's GitHub org. Cyera completed its roughly $1B acquisition of Oasis Security, a non-human identity management company, on September 3, 2026. Oasis will run as "Cyera Identity", which is not graded here and may deserve its own card. Inbound moves to A or B only if Cyera documents workload federation, which the advertised token-exchange grant might already support. Outbound needs public connector setup docs before it can be graded with confidence.
